The harsh reality of Jesus is that He is patiently waiting on you.
Yes we need to be still and know that He is God, but that does not mean that we just stand idle and let the world go by. In fact often people fail to see all of what Jesus would have for them if they would have actually heard Jesus in the way that He decided to speak/move rather than the way that we might have Him move. Jesus often speaks to us in ways we would have never thought that He would.
There once was a man who lived in a small town in a relatively stormy area. Many times Jesus spared his life and house from the floods and storms that came. One day a storm arose rapidly, and completely took the town by surprise. The town’s drainage system could not keep up with the amount of water from the storm, and the town became flooded. The water level kept getting higher and higher as the man sat in his home and prayed. He asked Jesus to stop the storms so that the waters would not overtake his house, but the water continued to rise as the storm raged on. Soon the man’s house was flooded and he had to leave. On his way out the door he noticed that he was completely cut off from the road out. He decided that the only thing left to do was to wait out the storm on his roof. The man knew that it would take a miracle for him to be saved as he waited on the isolated roof top, and so he continued to pray for a miracle. Soon a boat passed by and offered to help him try to get to safety, but the man refused and said, “I trust that Jesus can save me!” And so the boaters kept going. Then some time passed as the man continued to pray for a miracle; soon a second boat came. The man still refused and replied, “I trust that Jesus can save me!” As the second boat left the man cried out in desperation, “Jesus I trust that you can save me! Why have you not? Please, I need a miracle!” By this time the water was so high that it had almost overtaken the man on his roof. Finally, a third boat came! They rushed over to the man and tried to save him, but again he refused saying, “I trust in Jesus. I trust that He will provided me with a miracle!” So the boat left him. It didn’t take much longer for the water to overtake him, and the man drowned. As he approached Heaven’s shore he ran to meet Jesus, and the man asked Him, “Why did you not save me? I prayed and prayed for a miracle, but yet you did not send one!” Jesus replied, “I answered your prayers three times, yet you did not listen.” Then the man sat there not realizing what Jesus was saying.. Then he said to Jesus, “I prayed for the storms to stop and for the water to stop rising, but the storms continued and the waters overtook me! How did you answer my prayers three times?” Jesus replied, “I do not always answer in the ways you may want, but always in the ways that you need. While you were stranded on the roof I sent you three boats, but you refused to listen.”
Though this is just a story, there is a lot of truth behind it. When we get so caught up in waiting on Jesus to answer how we want Him to answer, the harsh reality of Jesus is that He may really be waiting on you.
If you haven’t accepted Jesus into your heart as your Lord and savior, do so right now. Watch and see all that He would do in your life. If you no longer have any joy, or are tired of being tired; give it all to Jesus who already bore it all on the cross so that you would not have to. Remember that Jesus might not always answer in the ways that you ask, but in the ways that you need. If you need prayer, either comment below or email Jesus For Today at jesus4.2day@gmail.com
